STLIA is a Missouri Association of Independent Agents (MAIA) affiliate and has been active in the St. Louis area insurance industry since 1944. STLIA's involvement in the insurance industry is guided by our organizational purpose, as stated in the STLIA by-laws, of "promoting and representing the common business interests of members before government and the public, consistent with the best interests of insurance consumers." STLIA's Board of Directors meet routinely throughout the year. The Board includes representatives from small, medium, and large insurance agencies; company representatives; and MAIA directors.
